Thousands of Energy Efficient Light Bulbs to be Distributed by NYC Youth
NEW YORK, NY (09/27/2008)(readMedia)-- New York City youth in partnership with RelightNY, Children for Children, and City Year will come together for a day of service. As announced by New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg at the ServiceNation Summit earlier this month, all will join forces with RelightNY, a citywide initiative started by 16 year-old Avery Hairston to inspire his peers to get all new Yorkers to take collective action to help the environment, by switching to energy efficient bulbs.
WHAT: September 27 is the Service Nation Day of Action, when citizens across the country will join together in service. As part of this exciting nationwide movement, City Year corps members will join RelightNY founders and Children for Children to distribute several thousand CFL light bulbs at New York City's Fulton Houses in Chelsea.
