'Take Back Cortaca' to Air on WSUC

The annual Cortaca Jug football game between SUNY Cortland and Ithaca College takes place Saturday, Nov. 15, at SUNY Cortland.

CORTLAND, NY (11/07/2014)(readMedia)-- SUNY Cortland President Erik J. Bitterbaum, Cortland Mayor Brian Tobin and members of the College community will discuss Cortaca Jug live on WSUC, the College's student-run radio station at 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6.

The panel, which will be moderated by Communication Studies Professor Caroline Kaltefleiter, will discuss the history of the Cortaca Jug football game, last year's destructive events, changes for this year and the future of the tradition.

Any student or community member who thinks nothing has changed since Cortaca Jug 2013 are advised to tune in.

In addition to President Bitterbaum and Mayor Tobin, the panel will include Scott Conroe, a local resident who served on both the Cortaca commission and resulting task force; Brooke McGahan, president of WSUC; and Frederic Pierce, the College's public relations director.

Listeners in the Cortland and Ithaca area can tune in to the broadcast at 90.5 FM.
