Tappan Zee Bridge Repairs To Continue

No Off-Peak Bridge Repairs, Maintenance Scheduled Monday - Friday

ALBANY, NY (12/23/2011)(readMedia)-- No routine repairs on the Tappan Zee Bridge will take place on Monday, December 26, through Friday, December 30, during off-peak travel times, weather permitting, the New York State Thruway Authority announced.

In an effort to provide the best possible customer service to New York's travelers and commuters, the Thruway Authority will continue to schedule repairs during off-peak travel times, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and overnight when possible.

The length of each closure varies throughout the day, but rarely extends more than one-tenth of a mile past the end of the bridge.

Next week's tentative lane closure schedule below is subject to change depending on other maintenance needs that may arise, traffic patterns and inclement weather.

Monday, December 26: Holiday: no lane closures.

Tuesday, December 27: No lane closures.

Wednesday, December 28: No lane closures.

Thursday, December 29: No lane closures.

Friday, December 30: No lane closures.

The traveling public is also notified about Tappan Zee Bridge repairs and lane closures via Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR). In the Tappan Zee Bridge Corridor, HAR can be heard at 530 on the AM band.
