Tax March on New York City, Saturday, April 15, 2017
1:00PM Rally in Bryant Park + March to Trump International Hotel and Tower
NEW YORK, NY (03/29/2017) (readMedia)-- Thousands of people from the tri-state area, the five boroughs, and cities and towns across the US will participate in the Tax March on Saturday, April 15, 2017 @ 1pm, and demand to see Trump's tax returns.
The President is currently under investigation for his ties to Russia. Releasing his taxes would address important questions about the sources of his income and debt, as well as his ties to other governments, banks, and businessmen. While the President and his advisors claim that "people don't care," Americans will march in cities across the country to show that we do.
The Tax March is supported by: Strong Economy for All, NY Communities for Change, Working Families Party, Resist Here, Vocal NY, Common Cause/NY, and Women's March on NYC.
March Coordinator Wes Shockley said, "Donald Trump owes it to all Americans to provide us with a transparent and corruption-free government and on this democratic priority he is failing. He needs to release his taxes. On nearly every issue, Donald Trump has failed to be transparent; he's failed to be a supporter of equality and fairness; he's failed to be a President for the people. Donald Trump is a failure, that's unlikely to change – but the least he could do is be transparent and honest about his motives for these abhorrent policies, and that starts with releasing his taxes."
Other simultaneous marches are taking place in New York State in Goshen, Lewisboro/South Salem and Syracuse, as well as in an additional 40 states across the country and in 6 international locations.
