'Tear Down the Walls' Concert Comes to Maryville University

ST. LOUIS, MO (01/28/2011)(readMedia)-- Jewish music artist Rick Recht brings his "Tear Down the Walls" community concert to Maryville University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 23, in the University Auditorium.

This interfaith, interactive musical experience utilizes the power of popular rock music to inspire and educate youth about ways to break down bias and prejudice in their communities. "Tear Down the Walls" also strives to educate the public about the social action organizations existing in their communities and specific ways to support them and get involved.

The event is free and open to the public.

Recht's high-energy, interactive family concert will appeal to all ages and features plenty of audience participation. He will perform songs from his newly released album Simply Shabbat, as well as selections from his other hit Jewish rock albums.

This inspirational and moving concert experience is co-sponsored by the Maryville Jewish Student Union, the Office of Campus Ministry and Community Service and the Office of Multicultural Programs.
