Teens are Stepping Out in Staunton

The S-Quad Step Team to host fundraising showcase

STAUNTON, VA (04/02/2010)(readMedia)-- The S-Quad Step and Dance Team will host a talent showcase on the 10th of April at the Booker T. Washington Community Center. The showcase, dubbed the Rising Stars Fundraiser, will serve as a money making opportunity for the teenage step team. "We have great acts lined up; Diane Roberts tap dance troupe, Diane and Company, Emily Henline accompanied by a three piece acoustic band, a Local rap artist, and Raven Johnson, one of my (step) ladies will be singing among others", writes Sharon Fitz the S-Quad team coach. Showcase admission is still $5.00. The show starts at 7:30pm. The proceeds from the showcase will be used to purchase show uniforms and pay admissions fees into regional step and dance team competitions.

The S-Quad Dance Team practices every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 11:30am-2:30pm at Booker T. Washington Community Center. Members must be between the ages of 15-24 to join the team.
