The Business Council Adds Communications Specialist to Staff

ALBANY, NY (04/02/2013)(readMedia)-- Kristin Legere recently joined the Communications Department of The Business Council of New York State, Inc. Her new role will focus on writing and editing various Business Council publications as well as working with the Government Affairs Department.

"Kristin's experience as a writer and public relations professional in addition to her knowledge of political and legislative issues will be an asset to The Business Council," stated Heather Briccetti, president & CEO of the Business Council.

With over 10 years of communications experience, Legere brings a diverse background to her new position encompassing government affairs, outreach, public relations and event management.

She most recently worked at AARP's New York State Office serving as the state's legislative communications contact and the New York State Builders Association where she conducted statewide public relations efforts and served as the editor of Empire State Builder magazine.

Legere also has an extensive history of meeting the needs of businesses in various industries, working on national and international trade shows and publicity for the National Association of Home Builders and George Little Management, a New York State based trade show management company.

Legere has a Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the State University of New York at Albany and Bachelor's Degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the State University of New York College at Oswego. She was a White House intern and also served as an assistant to the commercial attaché at the U.S. Embassy in Santiago, Chile. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and currently resides in the Capital Region.
