The Climate Exchange Hosts NYC Climate Week Event to Empower Climate Tech Start-ups
Climate tech start-ups continue to face scarcity of labs, funding and expertise despite the need for their innovations to tackle climate crisis; Boston Consulting Group to host and lead discussion with Breakthrough Energy, Georgia Tech, and Duke University
NEW YORK, NY (09/19/2023) (readMedia)-- On Wednesday, The New York Climate Exchange ("The Exchange") will host its second NYC Climate Week event: Deep-Tech Innovation Launchpad. As one of their inaugural events, The Exchange will present their innovative approach to empowering start-ups in the climate deep-tech and research-driven sectors, shedding light on the challenges faced by aspiring start-ups, such as the scarcity of labs, funding, expertise, and the complexities of IP rights. Hosted by Boston Consulting Group, participants also include Breakthrough Energy, Georgia Tech, and Duke University. Through concrete examples of start-ups that have struggled in these areas, panel experts will illustrate how The Exchange is uniquely positioned to bridge these critical gaps and empower the next generation of pioneers in deep-tech entrepreneurship through its game-changing incubation ecosystem that is set to revolutionize the landscape of research-driven climate innovation and climate technology entrepreneurship.
The Exchange launched earlier this spring, as a first-of-its kind international model for developing and deploying dynamic solutions to our global climate crisis, while also acting as a hub for New York's evolving green economy. The Exchange is made up of a partner network that includes interdisciplinary academic researchers, educators, business leaders, community organizations and decision-makers, including the top minds in climate science, environmental justice, and policy development and implementation. Powered by its strong partnerships and future home on Governors Island, The Exchange will use education, research, an innovation hub, job training, and public programs to prepare communities to respond to climate challenges.
