The Fighting Is Over But Listen To What They Are Saying About It
Look, Listen and Feel Everything About Local Civil War Battles
STAUNTON, VA (09/16/2010)(readMedia)-- Civil War Battlefield Studies sponsored by Staunton Parks and Recreation Department
People around the world study the American Civil War, but few indeed have the chance to learn about it and then go look at the actual battlefields! One night each week a new battle will be reviewed, and then the group will visit the battlefield itself. Participants will learn the strategic importance of Staunton while gaining insight into the weapons and tactics of the war, with particular emphasis on Jackson's Valley Campaign and Hunter's Raid. Visit McDowell, Cross Keys, Port Republic and Piedmont, or just attend the weeknight class in Staunton. The (car pooled) field trips will be more thoroughly discussed the first night of class.
