ANNVILLE, PA (10/14/2011)(readMedia)-- The Violet Burning may be the biggest band you have never heard of despite performing together for 20+ years, selling more than 100,000 CDs, and performing several world tours.
The band is scheduled to perform at Lebanon Valley College's Miller Chapel on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. A student band will be the opening act. LVC students will be admitted free with their College ID. Tickets for non-students are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
The Violet Burning has been making music since 1990 under the direction of creative front man Michael Pritzl. A prolific songwriter, his story is one of an endurance that is manifested in a host of albums and relentless touring throughout the U.S. and Europe. After years of touring Europe and on the heels of their latest album release, "The Story of our Lives," they have announced a rare American tour. The album's 34 songs are divided into three parts: Liebe über Alles, Black as Death, and The Fantastic Machine. The tour and CD release have attracted more attention and reviews than The Violet Burning has experienced yet.
Pritzl is also known for his contribution to worship music over the years and is the author of several well-known modern worship songs released through the Vineyard Music Group (Throne of Grace, Hear Our Cry, Invitation Fountain, Father of Lights, and more). However, the influence of The Violet Burning is one that has appealed to everyone, everywhere. Their music and influence have outlasted many musical trends and fads. They have received radio chart topping singles in college radio, Christian music, and Indie music radio stations everywhere. They have become established as some of the hardest working musicians out there.
The Violets have played many concerts over the years in the central Pennsylvania area, always bringing energizing and life-changing shows.
Can something so cool be both worship and rock?
