Theatre department opens curtain on performance year

The Chadron State College theatre department started the school year's performances with "Charley's Aunt" by Brandon Thomas, performed Thursday Oct. 5 through Sunday Oct. 8 in Memorial Hall's Auditorium.

"Charley's Aunt" featured Victorian-era Oxford students Charley Wykeham and Jack Chesney as they recruit their wealthy playboy friend, Lord Fancourt Babberly, to impersonate Charley's Brazilian aunt, Donna Lucia, to chaperone a double date the pair have planned. Unbeknownst to the trio, Jack's father happens to be after Donna Lucia's fortune and the real Donna Lucia has come to town undercover to check up on her nephew.
