Thiel College Names Students of the Month for May 2012

GREENVILLE, PA (05/02/2012)(readMedia)-- Three seniors, Eleanor Belleau, Megan Kay and Rachel Wills, have been chosen as the Students of the Month at Thiel College for May 2012.

Belleau is an accounting and business administration major from Warren, Pa. She is a member of Chi Eta Sigma and Alpha Chi honorary societies and has been on the Dean's List every semester. She has been a supplemental instruction leader and peer tutor and served as the statistician for the wrestling team. Belleau is the recipient of a multi-year scholarship and the prestigious Outstanding Senior Accounting Student award from the Pennsylvania Institute of CPAs. She will intern at Ernst & Young in Pittsburgh during the summer before returning to Thiel in the fall to complete the requirements to become a CPA.

Kay is a senior elementary education major from Girard, Ohio. She recently completed an outstanding semester of student teaching with first graders at Hempfield Elementary School in Greenville, Pa. She is a member of the women's volleyball team (co-captain 2011- 2012), PAC Academic Honor Roll, Kappa Delta Pi honorary, Alpha Xi Delta sorority, Les Lauriers honorary and the Senior Class Gift Committee. She has been on the Dean's List every semester.

Wills is a biology major with minors in chemistry, biochemistry and medical biology. A native of Valencia, Pa., she is a member of Beta Beta Beta honorary, Les Lauriers honorary, the Thiel College Honors Program and Chi Alpha Sigma (college athlete honorary). She is a member of the American Chemical Society and the Thiel softball team. She has been an assistant for the Biology Department for two and a half years.

Students of the Month at Thiel College are selected by faculty vote from among senior students with superior grade point averages.
