Thomas Barry of Frederick Awarded Eleanor Quirk Abbey Current Fund Scholarship
ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (11/19/2013)(readMedia)-- Thomas Barry, a Frederick, Md., native and senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland, was recently awarded the Eleanor Quirk Abbey Current Fund Scholarship. Established in 2012, the scholarship benefits history, anthropology, archaeology, or museum studies majors.
At St. Mary's College of Maryland, Barry is studying history and anthropology. He is considering graduate school.
Barry is involved in Fencing Club and is a professional fellow at the Dove, the recreation of a 17th century vessel. He is interested in medieval and colonial history, the anthropology of music and play, and museum work.
St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
