DANVILLE, KY (06/05/2013)(readMedia)-- Thomas Becker of Newark, a rising junior at Centre College, has been appointed to the College's Alumni Association Board of Directors. He is currently doing an internship with the United States Embassy in Africa's Maseru, Lesotho, prior to returning to campus to assume his position on the Board.

The Board is the governing body for the College's Alumni Association, which seeks to support the mission of Centre College by encouraging strong relations among the Centre family; facilitating service by alumni to the College community and service by the College to its alumni; and creating and expanding communication among the College's constituencies in order to serve more effectively as a conduit regarding issues and opportunities confronting the College.

Becker is the son of Bill and Jackie Becker of Newark and is a graduate of Red Lion Christian Academy.

Centre College, founded in 1819, is a nationally ranked liberal arts college in Danville, Ky. Centre hosted its second Vice Presidential Debate on 10.11.12, and remains the smallest college in the smallest town ever to host a general election debate.
