Three Lakes Native Amy Baumetz Honored with 2012 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District
SAINT PAUL, MN (12/20/2012)(readMedia)-- Bethel University senior Amy Baumetz from Three Lakes was awarded 2012 Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District for volleyball on Nov. 8. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) released the volleyball awards.
Baumetz was the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) leader in blocks and finished the 2012 season with 134 blocks and a 1.12 blocks per set average, ranking 21st nationwide. The middle blocker finished the last three consecutive seasons among the top 35 nationwide in blocks per set and she also recorded a team best and MIAC fourth-best with 333 kills. Baumetz finished with an attacking percentage of .268 and averaged 2.78 kills per set. She was selected to two all-tournament teams throughout the course of the 2012 season.
