Three St. Bonaventure students inducted into National Spanish Honor Society
ST. BONAVENTURE, NY (05/09/2013)(readMedia)-- Three St. Bonaventure University students were inducted into the Xi Delta Chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, the National Spanish Honor Society, on April 30. Inducted this year were Ashley Joseph, '14, of Pine Brook, N.J.; Kevin McCorry II, '13, of Rush, N.Y.; and Erin Thomas, '14, of Lee Center, N.Y.
Sigma Delta Pi was established in 1919 at the University of California at Berkeley. It is the only honor society devoted exclusively to students of Spanish in four-year colleges and universities. It also conducts an ever-increasing scholarship program for active members and annually presents a number of awards for study in Spain, Mexico, Peru and Bolivia.
The adviser for the chapter is Dr. Leigh Simone, assistant professor of modern languages.
