Three University of Kansas students receive 2012 Judy Ruedlinger scholarships
LAWRENCE (12/08/2011)(readMedia)-- The University of Kansas Alumni Association presented Judy L. Ruedlinger Awards to three outstanding members of the Student Alumni Leadership Board, which leads programs and activities for the Student Alumni Association. Each student will receive $500 for the spring 2012 semester.
Tyler Rockers, junior in sports management, son of Patrick and Connie Rockers; graduate of Anderson High School, Greeley.
Paige Blevins, senior in English, daughter of Laura and Ralph Blevins; graduate of Great Bend High School, Great Bend.
Hunter Hess, senior in business, son of Gary and Fern Hess; graduate of McPherson High School, McPherson.
The Judy L. Ruedlinger Award honors the first Student Alumni Leadership Board adviser, who was known by her students as "Judy Rudy." Recipients convey pride in membership, public awareness of the board and a sense of permanence, strength and integrity in the organization. The award also encourages students to join the KU Alumni Association after graduation and continue their involvement with the university.
The Judy L. Ruedlinger Award Fund is managed by KU Endowment, the independent, nonprofit organization serving as the official fundraising and fund-management foundation for KU.
The awards were presented Nov. 29 at the Adams Alumni Center.
