Thruway Authority Announces All Westbound Lanes Blocked Near Interchange 30 (Herkimer) Due To Accident

Westbound motorists may want to seek alternate routes

ALBANY, NY (02/20/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that all westbound lanes near Interchange 30 (Herkimer) are blocked due to an accident.

State police and emergency crews are currently at the scene of the accident, which took place three miles east of the interchange at milepost 216.8. In addition, the eastbound passing lane is also closed.

The Authority has its Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) system on to notify motorists of the closure. Westbound motorists may want to seek alternate routes.

The Authority appreciates motorists patience during this temporary closure.
