Thruway Authority Announces Eastbound Rolling Road Block for Syracuse Area Project Thursday, April 1

ALBANY, NY (03/31/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that the pavement reconstruction project taking place just west of Syracuse will necessitate a brief rolling road block for eastbound motorists traveling between Interchange 40 (Weedsport) and Interchange 39 (Syracuse/Fulton/Route 690), Thursday morning, April 1, 2010.

Between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon, one rolling road block will take place in both eastbound lanes from milepost 304.5 to milepost 300.8, while construction personnel prepare pavement for a traffic shift that will go into affect Thursday afternoon. The rolling road block should last less than 20 minutes and could cause minor to moderate delays.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be in place to alert motorists of the work and any delays associated with it.

Motorists are encouraged to remain alert and aware of their surroundings while traveling through both areas.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this necessary project.
