Thruway Authority Announces Fuel Services Temporarily Suspended at Malden Travel Plaza

Restaurant and Restroom Facilities to Remain Available

ALBANY, NY (10/20/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced all fuel services are temporarily suspended until further notice at the Malden Travel Plaza, located on I-87 northbound between Interchanges 20 (Saugerties) and 21 (Catskill), at milepost 103, due to scheduled work.

During this work, restaurant and restroom services will remain available to motorists.

Northbound motorists in need of fuel are advised to stop at the Plattekill Travel Plaza, located on I-87 northbound approximately 38 miles prior to the Malden Travel Plaza, between Interchanges 17 (Newburgh I-84) and 18 (New Paltz), at milepost 65. The next travel plaza beyond the Malden Travel Plaza is the New Baltimore Travel Plaza, located approximately 24 miles past the Malden Travel Plaza on I-87 northbound between Interchanges 21B (Coxsackie) and 21A (Berkshire Section/to Mass Pike), at milepost 127.

The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) just prior to the Plattekill Travel Plaza to inform northbound motorists of the suspension of fuel services at the Malden Travel Plaza.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while this necessary work takes place.
