Thruway Authority Announces Fuel Services Temporarily Suspended at Seneca Travel Plaza on Westbound I-90

Restroom and Restaurant Services to Remain Available During Renovations

The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that as part of the ongoing renovation at Thruway travel plazas, fuel services will be temporarily unavailable at the Seneca Travel Plaza on westbound I-90 beginning Monday, September 13, 2010. The renovation project is slated for completion by first week of October 2010.

The Seneca Travel Plaza is at milepost 350 westbound, between Interchange 44 (Canandaigua, Victor, Route 332) and Interchange 45 (Rochester, Victor, I-490).

Restroom and restaurant facilities will remain open at the Seneca Travel Plaza throughout the construction period.

Westbound travelers in need of fuel are advised to stop at the Junius Ponds Travel Plaza at milepost 324, between Interchange 41 (Waterloo, Clyde, Route 414) and Interchange 42 (Geneva, Lyons, Route 14). The Junius Ponds Travel Plaza is about 26 miles east of the Seneca Travel Plaza.

Except for Monday, September 13, westbound motorists may find fuel at the Ontario Travel Plaza at milepost 376, between Interchange 46 (Rochester, Corning, I-390) and Interchange 47 (Rochester, LeRoy, I-490 and Route 19). The Ontario Travel Plaza is about 26 miles west of the Seneca Travel Plaza.

Fuel services at the Ontario Travel Plaza will be temporarily suspended Monday, September 13, for a one-day testing of the fuel system.

Motorists also will find full fuel services at the Clarence Travel Plaza on westbound I-90 at milepost 412, between Interchange 48A (Pembroke, Medina, Route 77) and Interchange 49 (Depew, Lockport, Route 78). The Clarence Travel Plaza is about 62 miles west of the Seneca Travel Plaza.

The renovation of the Seneca facility, operated by the Lehigh Gas Corp., includes the replacement of the kiosk, canopy decking, fuel islands, and installation of a new fire suppression system.
