The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that fuel services at the Schuyler Travel Plaza, located westbound between Interchanges 30 (Herkimer) and 31 (Utica) at milepost 227, are temporarily unavailable due to technical issues. Restaurant and restroom services remain available to motorists.
Fuel services will be restored as soon as conditions permit.
Westbound vehicles in need of fuel are advised to stop at the Iroquois Travel Plaza, located approximately 17 miles prior to Schuyler Travel Plaza, near Interchange 29A (Little Falls) at milepost 210.
The next travel plaza with available fuel services beyond the Schuyler Travel Plaza is the Chittenango Travel Plaza, located approximately 39 miles west of the Schuyler Travel Plaza, near Interchange 34 (Canastota) at milepost 266.
The Authority has activated Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) to alert motorists' of the temporary disruption in fuel service.
The Authority offers a free email service called TRANSalert to its customers via email or text messaging to inform them of major unscheduled incidents that may affect their travel on the Thruway. To sign up for the TRANSalert service, customers can visit the Authority's website at www.nysthruway.gov/tas/. Motorists are encouraged to check their messages prior to traveling.
