Thruway Authority Announces Fuel Services to be Temporarily Suspended at Mohawk Travel Plaza

Restaurants, Restrooms Available to Customers

ALBANY, NY (06/23/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced that fuel services at the Mohawk Travel Plaza, located at milepost 172 eastbound, will be temporarily suspended from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2009, for maintenance. During the scheduled maintenance, only emergency fuel will be available.

During the temporary suspension of fuel services, restroom and food services will continue to be available at Mohawk Travel Plaza.

The Mohawk Travel Plaza is located eastbound between Interchange 27 (Amsterdam) and Interchange 26 (Schenectady/I-890/Route 5S). The closest plaza before Mohawk where fuel services will be available for eastbound motorists will be the Indian Castle Travel Plaza (milepost 210). The Indian Castle Travel Plaza is located on I-90 near Interchange 29A (Little Falls), 38 miles from Mohawk.

Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) will be in place prior to the Indian Castle Travel Plaza to alert motorists.

Eastbound motorists are advised that the next available travel plaza after Mohawk will be the Guilderland Travel Plaza at milepost 153, located 19 miles east of the Mohawk Travel Plaza. The Guilderland Travel Plaza is located between Interchange 25 (Schenectady/I-890/Routes 7 and 146) and Interchange 24 (Albany/I-90 and I-87).

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this temporary closure.
