Motorists Advised to Follow Signed Detour Routes

ALBANY, NY (10/29/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority announced the northbound I-190 Exit 11 ramp to the eastbound Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) and the westbound Scajaquada Expressway ramp to the northbound I-190 will be temporarily closed on Saturday, October 31, 2009, for concrete pavement repairs, weather permitting.

The ramps will be closed from 12:01 a.m. until 6 a.m. on Saturday, October 31, 2009.

A signed detour route will be in place for I-190 northbound traffic destined for the eastbound Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198). The detour route will direct northbound traffic to exit I-190 at Exit 12 (Amherst Street), proceed right on to Niagara Street, and continue to the eastbound Route 198 ramp leading to the Scajaquada Expressway.

Westbound Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) traffic destined for I-190 northbound should proceed southbound on I-190 to Exit 9 (Porter Avenue), go left on to Porter Avenue, and then make another left on to I-190 northbound..

The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to advise motorists of these closures.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while these important projects take place.
