Thruway Authority Announces Right Lane Eastbound Between Int. 36 & 35 to Remain Closed Through Evening Commute
ALBANY, NY (01/14/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the right lane eastbound between Interchange 36 (Watertown, Binghamton, I-81) and Interchange 35 (Syracuse, East Syracuse) will remain closed through the evening commute. Motorists traveling in this area should plan for delays and may want to consider alternate routes.
The lane remains closed for clean-up after an early morning tractor-trailer accident at milepost 280 eastbound. Milepost 280 eastbound is near the DeWitt Travel Plaza, approximately two miles east of Interchange 36.
Eastbound motorists are urged to plan for delays, especially during the evening commute. Motorists may want to consider alternate routes.
The right lane will be reopened as soon as the clean-up activities are completed and conditions safely permit.
The Authority has activated Highway Advisory Radio and Dynamic Message Signs to alert motorists. Additionally, throughout the day the Authority has issued TRANSalerts to subscribers.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding during this unscheduled closure.
