Thruway Authority Anticipates Moderate Delays on I-190 (Niagara Thruway) Northbound on Saturday, October 24

Motorists Advised to Seek Alternate Routes

ALBANY, NY (10/23/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority anticipates moderate traffic delays on I-190 (Niagara Thruway) northbound on Saturday morning, October 24, 2009.

The anticipated traffic delays may occur as a result of bridge maintenance work taking place on I-190 northbound over Buffalo Avenue from 7:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m on Saturday, October 24, 2009. This work is being performed by the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT).

Motorists familiar with the area are advised to plan for moderate delays and may wish to seek alternate routes during the project. Moderate delays mean that motorists' travel times could be delayed 5 to 30 minutes longer than normal time.

Should delays occur on I-190 (Niagara Thruway) the Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to inform motorists of the traffic back-ups.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this time.
