Tinley Park Resident Justin Thirstrup Receives Dominican's Outstanding Service Leadership Award
RIVER FOREST, IL (05/03/2011)(readMedia)-- Justin Thirstrup, a resident of Tinley Park, recently received the Outstanding Service Leadership Award from Dominican University for his extraordinary service on campus and in the larger community.
Thirstrup has served as the liturgical coordinator of lectors, assisted in Dominican's interfaith dialogue efforts, and been a student member of the Siena Center Advisory Council. He is the founder and supporter of the Kairos Retreat Program, where he has shown great leadership. He has participated in the Freshmen Retreat, Encounter Retreat, Busy Student Retreat, and also served as a student preacher on numerous occasions. His leadership also includes serving as a resident assistant and the president of the university's Theology Club. He has been actively involved in Exodus World Services' New Neighbor Volunteer program, where he has assisted a Bhutanese refugee family.
