Traffic Alert: All Eastbound Lanes on I-90 Between Exit 27 (Amsterdam) and Exit 26 (Schnectady/I-890) Closed

Traffic Is Being Diverted

ALBANY, NY (10/01/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that all eastbound lanes on I-90 between Exit 27 (Amsterdam) and Exit 26 (Schnectady/I-890) are closed due to a tandem-trailer accident at MP 165.0.

All eastbound traffic is presently being diverted off at Exit 27 (Amsterdam) and rerouted down Route 5S to Exit 26 (Schnectady/I-890).  State police, Authority maintenance crews and emergency personnel are on the scene and the closure could last several hours.

The Authority has activated its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) to advise motorists of the closure.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during this incident.
