Travis Clark Named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week
The senior center from Lake Forest College earned the honor for the third time this season.
LAKE FOREST, IL (01/24/2012)(readMedia)-- Lake Forest College men's basketball player Travis Clark (Evanston, Ill./Evanston) was named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week on Monday for recording double-doubles in a pair of Forester victories over the weekend.
Clark, a senior post player, tied for game-high honors with 17 points and pulled down a career-high 18 rebounds in the team's 62-54 triumph over St. Norbert College on Friday. He shot 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from the foul line in the contest and added an assist, a steal, and two blocked shots.
On Saturday the Foresters outscored Ripon College 83-75 and Clark led the team with 20 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. He connected on eight of 13 field goal attempts and added five assists, a steal, and a block.
After losing its opener, Lake Forest has won a school recod-tying 14 consecutive games and is in first place in the MWC with a 10-0 league record. Clark leads the conference with 11.1 rebounds per game and ranks second with a .613 field goal percentage. He is also listed among the top 10 in the league with 16.5 points, 2.9 assists, 1.9 steals, and 1.3 blocked shots per contest.
MWC Performers of the Week are selected by the league's sports information director. Clark has now earned the award five times in his career, including three times this season.
