Trevecca's Headrick Named G-MAC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week

NASHVILLE, TN (09/25/2012)(readMedia)-- The Great Midwest Athletic Conference has released its Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week and Trevecca's Bekah Headrick has been selected for the honor.

Trevecca Nazarene women's soccer battled to a scoreless double-overtime draw against NCAA Division I opponent Lipscomb University Thursday night at the Lipscomb Soccer Complex.

Headrick turned out to be the story of the night, recording 12 saves for the Trojans. In the first half, Lipscomb shot six times with Headrick saving three of those attempts. As the game went on, the pressure on Headrick increased as she recorded eight saves alone in the second half, including a stretch between the 70th and 72nd minutes where she denied four Bison shots.

Trevecca Nazarene University is a Christian liberal arts university located in Nashville, Tenn., Music City, USA. Now in its 111th year, Trevecca is committed to educate "leaders and servants" through undergraduate and graduate education. Trevecca's athletic teams are in the second year of a three year transition to NCAA Division ll status. Trevecca fields 11 intercollegiate teams that compete in the newly formed NCAA Division ll Great Midwest Athletic Conferece. One of Trevecca's newest programs is the master's of organizational leadership, a fully online program for persons who want to expand their opportunities to serve and lead.
