Twin Sisters of La Quinta Selected for Mortar Board
SAN DIEGO, CA (06/13/2013)(readMedia)-- Twin sisters Chelsea and Jesslyn Nunez, students at the University of San Diego, were selected for Mortar Board, a national honor society recognizing students for outstanding achievement in scholarship, leadership and service. Both expect to graduate in 2015.
Chelsea is a marketing and communication studies double major. She has received first and second honors and is a Trustee Scholarship recipient. She annually participates in service activities such as Relay for Life and A Walk in Her Shoes. She plans to attend graduate school and begin her career in the field of marketing.
Jesslyn is a finance major with a minor in marketing. She has received second honors and is a Trustee Scholarship recipient. She is a mentor for the AIR program through which she tutors young children in mathematics and also frequently volunteers at community service events that support the awareness of domestic violence. She plans to attend graduate school and begin her career as a statistician.
Mortar Board, founded in 1918, has more than 200 chapters across the country and chartered on the USD campus in the fall of 2000. After students are selected, they continue to serve the University and community through special projects.
