Two Rider University Professors Receive Bright Idea Award
LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ (11/12/2012)(readMedia)-- Rider University Accounting professors Dr. Dorothy McMullen of Yardley, Pa., and Dr. Maria Sanchez of Rydal, Pa., recently received the Bright Idea Award sponsored by the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University and the New Jersey Policy Research Organization (NJPRO) Foundation, an affiliate of the NJ Business and Industry Association. The partnership publishes a volume each year called Publication's of New Jersey's Business Faculty.
The publication is a compilation of summaries of journal articles published that year by business faculty from all the colleges and universities throughout New Jersey. This year, there were 115 articles included in the volume and 10 articles, including the article by McMullen and Sanchez, received the Bright Idea Award. Their article, "Initial Public Offerings and the Role of the Management Accountant", was originally published in Management Accounting Quarterly (Winter 2011, Vol. 2012, No. 2).
McMullen's research interests include fraudulent financial reporting; corporate governance audit committees; accounting education and forensic accounting. Her work has appeared in Troy University Business and Economic Review; Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting; New Accountant and Tennessee CPA Journal. Sanchez's research is primarily in the areas of auditing, behavioral research and forensic accounting, and has appeared in the Journal of Accounting Research, Accounting Review, Journal of Forensic & Investigative Accounting, Journal of Accounting and Public Policy, Journal of Forensic Accounting and other respected journals.
