UDALLAS RELEASE: University of Dallas Announces 2018 Business Hall of Fame Inductees

Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business to Honor Four Notable Alumni

IRVING, TX (01/15/2018) The University of Dallas announced today that it will induct four alumni business leaders into the Satish & Yasmin Gupta College of Business Hall of Fame. Honorees, who will be recognized during a reception in SB Hall at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, include Jennifer Chandler, Lloyd Lowe, Tom Nealon and Fanny Sheumaker.

This is the fourth class to be inducted into the Gupta Hall of Fame, which was established to recognize, honor and celebrate outstanding business leaders who have achieved significant success in their chosen fields of business and who embody the spirit of the college.

As a recipient of the Dallas Business Journal's "40 Under 40," Jennifer Chandler's, MBA '04, career has been on a skyward trajectory. Chandler is managing director and market executive at U.S. Trust, the private wealth management arm of Bank of America. In this role, Chandler leads a team of private client professionals serving the greater North Texas region, Tulsa and Wichita, Oklah. Chandler is an active member of her community, serving on the Junior League advisory board and as chair of the Leadership Dallas Alumni Board.

Lloyd D. Lowe Sr., MBA '95, is the founder and chief executive officer at LD Lowe Wealth Advisory, a full-service wealth management firm that Lowe founded in 1993 while pursuing his MBA at the University of Dallas. His approach is built on a strong partnership with his clients, serving as a trusted advisor and friend. His commitment and integrity have earned his firm the recognition of many publications and organizations. Lowe is also the author of "Life's Bridges: Building Your Bridge to Financial Wealth." In keeping with his ethically inspired principles for investing, all proceeds from the book are donated to charity.

As president of Southwest Airlines, Tom Nealon, MBA '87, oversees much of the airline's daily operations, including the commercial, finance, technology, corporate delivery and corporate strategy departments. Nealon first joined Southwest Airlines in 2002, holding the role of chief information officer until 2006 before transitioning to group executive vice president at JCPenney, where he led the development and implementation of the retailer's industry-leading information technology systems. In 2016, Nealon returned to Southwest Airlines as executive vice president of strategy and innovation before taking on the role of president for the airline in 2017. Drawing from a background in technology, Nealon continues to live out the entrepreneurial spirit for which the airline is so well-known.

After graduating with a B.A. in biology from the University of Dallas, Fanny Sheumaker, BA '88 MBA '91, began her career as a research technician at UT Southwestern. She returned to the University of Dallas in 1990 to pursue her MBA in international business and later began working in compensation, benefits and human resources, a field in which she's thrived for over 25 years. Sheumaker excelled in her roles at Frito-Lay, Dean Foods Company, JCPenney and Zale Corporation Inc., where she led a complete overhaul of the total rewards function and was the human resources lead during the acquisition of Zale by Signet Jeweler. In 2014, Sheumaker transitioned to 7-Eleven Inc., where she continues to lead the total rewards function for the global convenience store chain.
