UPDATE: Thruway Authority Announces Traffic Delays Continue on Southbound I-87 and Cross Westchester

ALBANY, NY (04/22/2010)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority has announced that the two left most lanes and the middle-right lane have been reopened to traffic at milepost 16.3 on southbound I-87 near Interchange 10 (Nyack). The right lane remains closed.

However, residual delays continue on both the Tappan Zee Bridge to Interchange 14A (Garden State Parkway) and on the Cross Westchester Expressway (I-287) from Exit 10 (Route 120, Route 12A, Westchester Avenue).

To reduce congestion, motorists are unable to enter I-87 southbound between Interchange 10 and Interchange 13 (Palisades Interstate Parkway).

The delays were caused by a rollover truck accident in the afternoon at milepost 16.3 southbound on I-87 at Interchange 10.

Motorists are advised to travel with caution through the area as residual delays continue.

The Authority appreciates motorists' patience during the unscheduled lane closure.
