Motorists Advised to Follow Signed Detour Route
ALBANY, NY (09/30/2009)(readMedia)-- The New York State Thruway Authority today announced pavement repairs will take place along I-190 (Niagara Thruway) northbound, requiring the closure of the Exit 1 (South Ogden Street/Dingens) exit ramp beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, weather permitting. The repairs were originally scheduled to begin on Wednesday morning, September 30, 2009; however, the work was delayed due to inclement weather conditions.
On Thursday, October 1, the Exit 1 northbound exit ramp from I-190 northbound will be closed from 9:00 a.m. until 6 p.m. The ramp will again be closed from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2009.
During the repair work, traffic will be detoured to I-190 Exit 2 northbound (Clinton Street-Route 354). The traffic will proceed right (west) on to Clinton Street, right (north) on to Bailey Avenue (Route 62) and then right on to Dingens Street.
The Authority will activate its Dynamic Message Signs (DMS) and Highway Advisory Radio 1610 AM to advise motorists of the closure.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience while this essential project takes place.
