USC Aiken Announces Addition of Men's Cross Country

AIKEN, SC (10/28/2018) The University of South Carolina Aiken is pleased to announce the addition of men's cross country beginning in the fall of 2019.
With the addition of men's cross country, USC Aiken will now have 12 NCAA sports that will compete in the Peach Belt Conference.
"We are excited about bringing men's cross country back to USC Aiken," Director of Athletics Jim Herlihy stated.
"It's a great addition to the athletic department and to the university. This is an exciting time to add a sport at USC Aiken and we are looking forward to seeing the revitalization of the program in an area that has so many talented cross country competitors.
"We believe that we can be competitive very quickly in our conference and region."
With the addition of men's cross country for USC Aiken, the PBC will have nine teams competing for a conference championship in the sport. USC Aiken had a men's cross country team from 1981-99 before it was discontinued. From 1989-99, the school had both men's and women's cross country.
An immediate national search is underway for a head coach for men's and women's cross country.
