USC Aiken Classes Canceled as of Midday Sept. 11

AIKEN, SC (09/10/2018) In compliance with the governor's executive order, the University of South Carolina Aiken will cancel all classes and university-related activities, beginning at 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, September 11.

All non-essential personnel can leave at 12:10 p.m. Essential personnel will remain on campus and will be contacted by their immediate supervisors regarding their operating schedules.

The university will remain open with services available to students on campus. During severe weather conditions, one of the safest places for student residents is on campus where there are generators to ensure power for key offices and service providers, including University Police, dining services, and housing.

USC Aiken is the evacuation point for USC Beaufort students and employees. Accommodations are being made for them on campus.

Students, faculty, staff, and USC Aiken guests are encouraged to stay tuned to their local forecasts. Safety is a top priority, and local conditions may vary. If travel is necessary, students, faculty, staff and campus guests are encouraged to be aware of the traveling conditions along their routes and make necessary judgments regarding amendments to travel plans.

Updates regarding the operating schedule for Wednesday, September 12, will be posted by 5 p.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 11, on the USC Aiken website.
