AIKEN, SC (02/28/2018) The University of South Carolina Aiken men's basketball team earned the No. 5 seed in the upcoming PBC Tournament and will square off at Augusta tonight, Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 7:30 p.m.

The teams met twice during the regular season, with the Jaguars victorious in both close battles. Augusta managed to hold off USC Aiken on Feb. 21 at Christenberry Fieldhouse by an 80-75 score. Head coach Mark Vanderslice's team was paced by Henry Bolton III's 16 points. Robert Hill had a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds, to go along with three blocks. Doniel Dean accounted for 13 points and five assists while Markus Terry added 10 markers.

This marks the first time the teams have met in the postseason since the 2013-14 campaign. That season, USC Aiken squared off with Augusta in Aiken, S.C., for the second round of the NCAA Tournament. The Pacers emerged victorious by a 78-58 count en route to claiming the NCAA Southeast Region Championship and the school's first-ever Final Four appearance.

The Pacers are looking for their first win at Augusta since Feb. 26, 2014. That game, USC Aiken overcame a 20-point deficit with 1:47 to play in the opening half. The Pacers trailed by 16 at the break and before outscoring the Jaguars 57-32 over the final 20 minutes for the 82-73 victory.

Clayton State is the top seed and will host No. 8 Columbus State. UNC Pembroke secured the No. 2 seed and will host Georgia Southwestern. Francis Marion is the No. 3 seed and hosts North Georgia. All quarterfinal games will be played Wednesday. The semifinals and finals will be played at the institution of the highest remaining seed.

General admission tickets for the quarterfinal game are available at the door for $5. The cost is $3 for all military, senior citizens, and children over three years old. All PBC Sports Passes and students with a valid ID from a PBC school are admitted free.
