USC Sumter Partners with American Heart Association to Raise Funds
Fire Ants Have Heart Charity Golf Tournament
SUMTER, SC (09/18/2017) The University of South Carolina Sumter Athletics Department has partnered with the American Heart Association to host a golf tournament Friday, September 29, 2017 at Beech Creek Golf Course in Sumter, South Carolina. The shotgun start will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a four-player Captain's Choice format.
The tournament includes special hole-in-one options, an opportunity to "Beat the Golf Coach" plus prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and all proceeds from the tournament will benefit both Fire Ant Athletics and the American Heart Association.
"Fundraising is a top priority for the USC Sumter Athletics Department," Director of Athletics Adrienne Cataldo said. "Our coaches are responsible for raising almost their entire operating budget each year. Events like this golf tournament not only help fund things like officials, transportation and uniforms, but it also helps us support the community through our partnership with the American Heart Association."
