University of Charleston Graduate, Katrina Leaptrot, publishes article with Dr. Xiaoping Sun

CHARLESTON, WV (12/16/2011)(readMedia)-- Katrina Leaptrot, a 2011 graduate of the University of Charleston, recently published an article with her chemistry professor, Dr. Xiaoping Sun, in the December 2011 issue of Journal of Undergraduate Chemistry Research, a peer-reviewed research journal. The title of their article is "Effects of Various Ligands on Spectroscopic Properties of the Uranyl Ion."
Leaptrot, who graduated in May from the University of Charleston, majored in chemistry and biology and has entered a five-year doctoral program in chemistry at Vanderbilt University. At UC, she was also a member of the pep band, the UC steel drum band, and performed with the University Singers and Concert Choir. She was also named 2011 Senior of the Year.
