Professor Celia Evans and her students will give a talk on their recent trip to Russia. 7 p.m. $5/person, free for Friends of the VIC and volunteers.
Friday, Nov. 13 – Autumn Owl Walk
Join a naturalist on a search for owls at 7:30 p.m. Participants will learn about their call notes as well as their natural history. Please bring a flashlight or headlamp to help guide your way. $10/person, $5 for Friends of the VIC. Preregister by 5 p.m. the day before.
Sunday, Nov. 15 – Trees of the Adirondacks
Join a VIC naturalist on a leisurely walk from 10 a.m. to noon and learn to identify various trees. Identify at least 10 or your money back. $20/person, $15 for Friends of the VIC. Preregister by 5 p.m. the day before.
Thursday, Nov. 19 – Armchair Traveler Lecture Series: Thailand
Join Nicole Schmidt at 7 p.m. for a talk on her recent trip to Thailand. $5/person, free for Friends of the VIC and volunteers.
Winter trail passes on sale now
VIC trail users must purchase a season pass or a day pass during the winter, when the Paul Smith's College VIC becomes a cross-country ski center with over 25 miles of groomed trails for cross country skiing, skate skiing and snowshoeing. Trail-pass holders receive a 10 percent discount on cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals from MAC'S at the VIC. New Moon Art Show: Fall Into Color
The Paul Smith's College VIC is hosting an art show featuring the essence of fall color. The exhibit, which is on display until Nov. 20, showcases varied mediums, including fabric, collage, clay, watercolor, oils and acrylics. Artists include Anne Burnham, Cheryl Mirer, Ray Whalen, Ola Aldous and Nina Holland. Free admission.
