Updated: State Senator Skelos to Visit Home Care Patient

Home care services serve vital role in health care continuum

WHAT: State Senator Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) will participate in the Home Care Connect program sponsored by the New York State Association of Health Care Providers, Inc. (HCP). Skelos will visit Rockville Centre resident and home care patient Lena Brasacchio to see first-hand how home and community-based care helps keep New Yorkers in the comfort of their own home and out of costly institutions.

WHEN: Friday, May 4 at 10 a.m.

WHY: Home care is cost-efficient care in New York State where spending on health care services consumes 35 percent of the State budget. As the baby boomer population ages, home care will be relied on even more to provide essential care to New Yorkers. Home Care Connect provides State and Federal representatives as well as media the opportunity to learn more about the many services home care provides and the individuals that benefit from home and community-based services.
