Note: New Event Information Added
PLATTSBURGH, NY (04/13/2009)(readMedia)-- Individuals and groups are networking to create the area's first week-long Earth Week Celebration and "Go Local" campaign. Sponsored by the City of Plattsburgh, the events will run from Saturday, April 18 through Sunday, April 26.
The Plattsburgh Green Committee's Earth Week and Education and Outreach Task Forces are coordinating locally focused, sustainable, green activities and initiatives in order to foster awareness, social networks and community action on environmental and local sustainability issues. All events are free and public attendance is encouraged.
The efforts of the Local Earth Week Task Force focus on creating a local culture and economy that is more sustainable, green and community oriented. At the heart of the effort is the creation of both logistical and social networks to more effectively team and coordinate those sustainability-focused individuals and organizations that live in the Plattsburgh and North Country area.
