Victoria Jones of Damascus Awarded Scholarship

ST. MARY'S CITY, MD (12/02/2011)(readMedia)-- Victoria Jones of Damascus, Maryland, is the recipient of a Scholarship for Study Abroad in Asia at St. Mary's College of Maryland. The scholarship is awarded to students studying abroad in the spring, fall, or summer semesters.

Jones is majoring in biology with minors in environmental studies and mathematics. She is a rower on the college crew team, a member of the Student Judicial Board, a volunteer in the biology department's wet lab, and a member of several clubs, including Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship. Jones intends to pursue a career in marine biology and invertebrate zoology.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
