LA MIRADA, CA (01/10/2014)(readMedia)-- The Eagles added a multi-tool player and student-athlete in Terri Van Dagens of Villa Park High School.

The Orange-native will pitch, play first base and see some time in the outfield for Biola starting in the 2015 season.

Van Dagens is a well-rounded addition to the Eagles' pitching staff and fits the character of the team well, as a three-time scholar-athlete with a 4.0 grade point average.

Whenever she is not studying or striking people out Van Dagens is volunteering her time. She is a part of a local community service organization, Assistance League of Orange, serving as the chairman of hospitality.

"Terri is a very talented student-athlete and a huge addition to our pitching staff," said Head Coach Lorie Coleman. "She has great poise and composure on the mound that will be beneficial to her career, and a blessing to our program."

Van Dagens has been actively involved in club competition since the age of 11. She first joined the Irvine Sting before logging time with the Corona Angels and California Cruisers.

"She has experience at a high level of play that will prepare her to compete at the collegiate level as a freshman," said Coleman.

The newest addition to Biola softball will begin classes at Biola beginning in the fall of 2014.
