Villas Resident Lucas Hippel Speaks to Class of 2011 at Drexel's 122nd Commencement

PHILADELPHIA, PA (07/08/2011)(readMedia)-- Villas resident Lucas Hippel was a speaker on behalf of the Class of 2011 at Drexel University's commencement ceremony honoring the graduates of Drexel's College of Engineering and School of Biomedical Engineering, Science and Health Systems. More than 5,000 students received degrees from Drexel this year at the University's 124th Commencement.

Hippel received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Drexel's College of Engineering. Hippel attended Lower Cape May Regional High School.

Honorary degree recipients at the ceremony were given to Paul E. Gray, Sc.D. president emeritus at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and professor emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.

Founded in 1891 in Philadelphia, Drexel is the nation's 14th largest private university and is ranked second among national universities in the U.S. News list of "Up-and-Comers." Drexel is widely recognized for its focus on experiential learning through its co-operative education program and translational research initiatives.
