POTSDAM, NY (10/14/2014)(readMedia)-- Break out your best vintage attire and get ready to dance the night away with Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox, in the next highly anticipated concert of Community Performance Series' 25th anniversary season.

The performance will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music.

Proving that everything new can be old again, pianist Scott Bradlee became a viral pop sensation after creating a series of clips for YouTube that finds him and his ad hoc group, Postmodern Jukebox, reworking 21st century pop hits in a variety of vintage styles.

Postmodern Jukebox has recorded hits like Miley Cyrus's "We Can't Stop" in a 1950s doo wop style, Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines" in a bluegrass barn dance style and Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off" in a Motown style. Bradlee and his collaborators have also drawn attention for their "Saturday Morning Slow Jams," presenting the theme songs from beloved cartoons in a '90s R&B style.

"Songs can be twisted, shaped and altered without losing their identities -- just as we grow and age without losing ours -- and it is through this exploration that the gap between 'high' and 'low' art can be bridged most readily. I want to encourage others to push the boundaries of genres, and give them the tools to do so," Bradlee said.

Visit the group's website at www.postmodernjukebox.com or the YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/user/ScottBradleeLovesYa to hear Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox.

"Postmodern Jukebox combines great musicianship with humor and creativity. When this YouTube sensation announced they were taking their show on the road, we quickly invited them to Potsdam. It isn't often that you find a musical act that's able to appeal to young adults, parents and grandparents alike. The concert, which is drawing fans from all over the North Country and Canada, promises to be a unique and highly engaging experience," said CPS Executive Director Amy Flack.

CPS and Postmodern Jukebox are inviting all attendees to dance the night away in their flashiest vintage attire. As with their videos, the group's stage performance will include period themes, dancers and many incredible wardrobe changes. Song selection will occur during the performance.
