EWING, NJ (02/08/2012)(readMedia)-- Local resident Virgil Rome Jr. of Fredon Township was awarded The College of New Jersey Alumni Association's Alumni Citation Award on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the annual Alumni Leadership Awards.

The Alumni Citation Award is granted to an alumnus/a who has achieved exceptional success in work and/or community; has demonstrated a sustained association with the College since graduation, including support to the Alumni Annual Fund; graduated 15 or more years prior to nomination; and is not currently employed by the College or its affiliated organizations. This year, the Alumni Association gave this award to Virgil Rome, Jr. Rome, who worked as a detective for the Sussex County Prosecutor's Office for more than 20 years, is a member of the Law and Justice Chapter of the Alumni Association and has been a contributing and successful member of society in all facets of his life.
