Volunteers needed July 10 for Flatland Youth Triathlon
National-level day-long event at Gray's Lake first of a kind in Iowa
DES MOINES, IA (06/22/2010)(readMedia)-- Volunteers are needed July 10 at Gray's Lake Park for the Flatland Kids Triathlon Festival. The festival is the first of its kind in the area. A day-long event for ages 6 through 19, the event will include four elite athlete draft-legal races and two races for new triathletes. 150 young athletes are already signed up to compete.
Volunteers are needed 6:30 – 9:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 12:30-3:30 p.m. at the finish line, in the food tent or recovery zone, offering course direction, providing transition assistance or as parking attendants. Visit www.FlatlandKidsTrifest.com to volunteer with the event.
The Flatland Tri has been designated a USA Triathlon Youth Elite and Junior Elite Cup Race and is the only qualifying event for the National United States Triathlon competition in San Diego in August.
