Voting continues for Hotel Ponce de Leon as '8th Wonder of the World'

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (09/10/2013)(readMedia)-- Flagler College's Hotel Ponce de Leon is in the Top 150 out of more than 300 landmarks nominated for VirtualTourist.com's quest to crown the "8th Wonder of the World."You can cast your vote for the National Historic Landmark now through Sept. 30 by visiting virtualtourist.com/8thwonder.

On January 12, 1888, the Hotel Ponce de Leon opened its doors and became one of the grandest hotel resorts of its day. A landmark in American architecture in the Nation's Oldest City, the Ponce's Spanish Renaissance architecture and lavish decoration attracted the wealthy and the elite from presidents to movie stars.

In 2013, Flagler College marks the 125th anniversary of this National Historic Landmark with special tours, community events and programs that commemorate this historic building, and the legacy of Henry Flagler.

The landmark with the most votes will be featured in a national TV segment and receive a media push from VirtualTourist, a travel research website that is part of the TripAdvisor Media Group.
